Moore, Lucy
Lucy Moore is the editor of Con Men and Cutpurses: Scenes from the Hogarthian Underworld (2000) as well as the author of The Thieves Opera: The Remarkable Lives and Deaths of Jonathan Wild, Thief-Taker, and Jack Sheppard, House-Breaker (1996); Amphibious Thing: The Life of a Georgian Rake (2000); the bestselling Maharanis: The Lives & Times of Three Generations of Indian Princesses (2004); Liberty: The Lives and Times of Six Women in Revolutionary France (2006), hailed as ‘marvellous’ by the New York Times; Anything Goes: A Biography of the Roaring Twenties (2008) which the Sunday Times called ‘dazzling’; the ‘captivating’ (Financial Times) Nijinsky: A Life (2013); and, most recently, Lady Fanshawe’s Receipt Book: An Englishwoman’s Life During the Civil War (2017), described as in the Telegraph as ‘an enchanting, idiosyncratic Tardis of a book’.
Thurlow, Clifford
Clifford Thurlow divides his time between London and Cadaqués, Spain. His 2024 biography of bank robber Keith Cheeseman, How to Rob the Bank of England, was the basis for a two-part Sky documentary. He is the author of Sex, Surrealism, Dalí and Me, the twin biography of Salvador Dalí and the dancer Carlos Lozano, and has written several best-selling ghostwritten memoirs, including Today I’m Alice (Alice Jamieson) and Runaway (Emily MacKenzie).
