Paul Levy, PhD, FRSL, is a writer, journalist and broadcaster. Food and Wine editor of The Observer in the 1980s, he was subsequently arts correspondent for the Wall Street Journal and Wall Street Journal Europe. He blogs on culture at ArtsJournal.com, writes book reviews for the TLS,  Spectator and New York Review of Books, and obituaries for  the Independent, Guardian and Telegraph, and is author or editor of about ten books. He is co-literary executor of Lytton Strachey‘s estate, trustee of the Strachey Trust, and Chair Emeritus of the Oxford Symposium on Food and Cookery. (See paullevy.com and Who’s Who.)

Ben Lowings has worked since 1999 at newspapers and radio and television stations in Britain and New Zealand. Aside from duty editor shifts at BBC World Service News, he skippers delivery trips as a commercially-endorsed Royal Yachting Association Ocean Yachtmaster. He read English at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from City University, and is a member of the Yachting Journalists’ Association. He has written for Classic Sailor, Earthlines and Island Review.  His biography of the British-born writer and yachtsman, Dr David Henry Lewis DCNZM (1917-2002), will be published by Lodestar Books in 2020.

Andrew Lownie was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he was Dunster History Prizeman and President of the Union, before taking his Masters and doctorate at Edinburgh University. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and former visiting fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge, he has run his own literary agency since 1988. A trustee of the Campaign for Freedom of Information and President of The Biographers Club, he has written for the Times, Telegraph, Wall Street Journal, Spectator and Guardian . His books include  lives of the writer John Buchan,  the spy Guy Burgess. (which won the St Ermin’s Hotel Intelligence Book Prize) and The Mountbatten: Their Lives and Loves.
