Slightly Foxed Best First Biography Prize presentation

We shall announce the winner of the 2021 Best First Biography Prize, generously sponsored by Slightly Foxed with a winner’s purse of £2,500, at Maggs Bros, 48 Bedford Square, on Tuesday 8th March.

The shortlist is:
Windswept: Walking in the Footsteps of Remarkable Women by Annabel Abbs (Two Roads)
Will She Do? Act One of a Life on Stage by Eileen Atkins (Virago)
Dostoevsky in Love: An Intimate Life by Alex Christofi (Bloomsbury Continuum)
John Craxton: A Life of Gifts by Ian Collins (Yale)
Free: Coming of Age at the End of History by Lea Ypi (Allen Lane) 

The judges are Susannah Clapp, Horatio Clare and Johnny de Falbe.

Heather Clark won the 2020 prize, for Red Comet: The Short Life and Blazing Art of Sylvia Plath (Vintage).
